1. Purpose of Data Collection

The information collected through this interactive form, including farm identifiers, flock monitoring protocols, visitor logs, and staff training records, is used solely to facilitate the creation, storage, and retrieval of your Disease Prevention Biosecurity Plan. This data helps PIANZ and EPF members maintain industry-standard preparedness against birdflu and other unwanted diseases.

2. Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your farm’s operational data seriously:

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS and encrypted at rest within our database.
• Hosting & Sovereignty: Your data is stored on secure cloud servers located in Sydney, Australia. 
• Access Control: Access to your saved plan is restricted via a Unique Plan ID. This ID acts as your private key; without it, the data cannot be retrieved by unauthorized users.

3. Disclosure of Information

Your individual biosecurity plans are private. We do not share, sell, or disclose your specific farm data to third parties, except:

• Where you explicitly choose to share or export your plan (e.g., to an auditor or veterinarian).
• If required by New Zealand law under the Privacy Act 2020 or the Biosecurity Act 1993.
• Anonymised Reporting: We may use de-identified, aggregated data (which cannot be traced back to an individual farm or person) to report on industry-wide readiness levels to PIANZ/EPF leadership.

Privacy Reminder: Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. For your security, this ID is the only way to retrieve your saved progress. Please keep it in a safe place. Your Plan ID is the only way to access your data. PIANZ/EPF staff cannot recover lost IDs for security reasons.  

4. Data Retention and Your Rights

• Save and Continue: To support your “Save and Continue” experience, your data is stored in a draft state until you choose to complete or delete it.
• Access and Correction: Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access any personal information we hold about you and request its correction.
• Deletion: You may request the permanent deletion of your data at any time by contacting the PIANZ/EPF at [email protected].
